After care is also a necessity for keeping the longevity of your new hairpiece. Please see after care-clean & maintain for all information.
Step 1. Determine your hair needs- human hair, lace front or synthetic hair
Synthetic Wigs – Synthetic hair wigs are more natural-looking than ever before. Many women favour synthetic wigs, since they are easier to maintain and are less priced then human hair wigs. Synthetic wigs offers the ability of carefree styles that when wet will always retain back to their original set once dried. Synthetics must be treated properly with specified products, made to enhance the quality and longevity of the hairpiece. Due to the fibers excessive heat will damage the wig.
Human Hair Wigs – If you are looking for the most natural, undetectable wig in the world, then human hair wigs, hairpieces and hair extensions are truly the elite choice. Human hair as many advantages, just like your own hair it can be straightened with a flat iron, curled with hot rollers, or treated with chemicals such as colouring. Human hair wigs have shed a new light for hair loss patients as it is the closest, even better to the own natural hair. Styles, length and colours are an endless. choice.
Custom Top Pieces – Chiquel custom designed top pieces are ideal for the attainment to conceal thinning hair in the crown area as well as adding extra volume to your own existing hair. Perfect for female pattern balding, alopecia and low crown loss. This hair addition features the new super silk hair system which is one of the most invisible hair line attachment in the world today.
Lace Front Wigs – Lace front wigs represent the latest technology for non-surgical hair replacement in the world today. Lace Wigs are also a preferred choice of celebrities, actors, and people in the media. A lace front wig can offer you the closest thing to your own real hair, or can replace the hair you haven’t got. The hairline constructed is of lace material, which offers a natural appearance virtually undetectable to the naked eye, when placed against the skin. You can wear it for daily use or for weeks at a time without removing it. You can comb your hair straight back, part it in the middle or even go swimming with it. This offers hair loss patients to wear the lace front wig with confidence and security.
Step 2. Select filament of cap design- (this is a section provided in the wig finder)Understanding Cap construction
What does each filament 'base design' mean?
Mono base: Made in such a way that gives the most natural looking scalp appearance by allowing the natural scalp colour of the wearer to show through. Monofilament caps are typically made of thin mesh-like material, usually of nylon or polyester. Due to hairs usually being attached by hand tying at the crown, these caps usually give the most natural look. Wigs are thus easier to style and more versatile due to the attachment method. Much like real hair, the wig can be parted or brushed in any direction. These soft cap wigs are good for easily irritable scalps. Due to the natural look of the wig, it is also highly recommended for severe and total hair loss individuals.
Non mono base: The most common of all wig cap types and is usually not visible through the hair. The cap usually has a closed lace layer around the crown at which the hairs are sewn onto by machine. Hair is usually styled in such a way that the crown is lifted so the cap is not visible. This cap gives the hair volume at the crown due to the natural lift.
Lace: The invisible lace front creates a low density, natural looking hairline and allows for off the face styling. It does not require any tape, adhesive, or cutting.Wig manufacturers developed lace front wigs so customers could wear
their hair off the face. It is the only cap construction that permits a
natural looking hairline.
Step 3. Determine your face shape
Oval Face - versatile. This face shape is considered the "perfect" shape because of its symmetry. Very little, if any contouring is needed as it's well balanced (slightly broader at cheeks, and narrower at forehead and chin, and overall is longer than wide). Because the oval shaped face has no dominant areas and is so proportional, this face looks good with just about any hairstyle, length or texture. |
Round- add length, avoid width. The round-shaped face has a wide hairline and fullness below the cheekbones. The goal is to slim your face. It's best to avoid short and sleeked- back hairstyles. Wear longer styles closer to the face to give length. People with round faces tend to look more youthful. By layering the top to achieve fullness and keeping the rest of the cut relatively close to the face, your face shape will appear longer and narrower. |
Diamond- reduce width at sides.Your face shape is balanced and dramatic. Widest at the cheekbones and narrow equally at the forehead and jaw line. Shorter styles work best especially Bobs, however avoid height on top or volume on the sides and use some fringe or bangs to cover narrow forehead. This will achieve more balance between your dramatic cheekbones and more delicate chin line. |
Heart- add volume at chin. This is a triangular-shaped face. This face is narrow at the jaw line, wider at the eye line, cheek bones and even more at the brow line. Bring some hair onto the forehead (fringe) to disguise its width and enhance the fullness at the jaw line. A medium length to mid-neck is your best look, the soft layered bob styles are also ideal. Or if you prefer, curls or loose waves, shaped from the ears down, add width and fullness to your chin. Just remember if you have a dramatic heart shape face, you have great cheekbones to emphasize! |
Pear - add volume above jaw line. This face shape, while oval-ish has a narrower forehead as a rather larger appearing jaw line, making it look a little angular. The goal is to narrow the chin and widen the forehead. Fringes and long layered styles are ideal. Also the wedge styles, which are brushed away from the face and give width at the forehead, are perfect for this facial shape. |
Oblong - add softness. The oblong-shaped face has a long and narrow bone structure. Hairstyles should add width and fullness to the sides of the face and around the eyes, cheekbones and ears. You'll want to balance the look of a long and slender face. Wide curly bob styles are ideal for this shape. Also use a fringe and soft wispy bangs as it will shorten the appearance of the length |
Step 4. Determine Wig sizesThere are many products on the market today that enable you to wear your wigs with confidence and security. Just remember most wigs have adjustable tabs to either lengthen or tighten wig caps to ensure a secure fit. For added security,
Beautimark Sure Grip is worn under your wig, which keeps your wig firmly into place. Wig tapes and adhesives also aid for a tighter fit offering different bonding agents varying from daily wear to several weeks. Please check the
wig accessories section for the numerous products available to assist you with a perfect fit. Wear your wig with confidence!
